Hello October! Pumpkin spice is taking over, the leaves are turning colors, and the air is getting colder. Sadly it is time to put the sandals away to break out the boots. Although I love summer and like to think of myself as a mermaid you can't fight the inevitable, especially in New England. But I am not mad about it. I love scarves and I really love these booties! They are so versatile and comfortable. Booties are everywhere and easy to find. I found myself shopping at Kohl's one day while assisting a friend in finding the perfect new wardrobe additions. We of course had to browse thru the shoe department and as soon as we entered these babies where calling my name.

Here I have the booties paired with black skinnies, a chambray shirt, and an olive green jacket. Layering is key practice in the fall. Layers keep you warm but your office or home could be warm too so you can easily take off a layer or add one when necessary. There is no denying that booties are a fall must have, they are worth investing in. Like any clothing purchase make sure you find a pair that suits your style. Be you, be fabulous! See below another way to wear your booties.

Well dolls till next time. Happy Shopping!58

Top 3 Staples

Is your closet cluttered? Do you have 10 pairs of jeans? When you walk into a store, do you get overwhelmed because you do not know what to buy? My best guess is that you do not have a great selection of staple items in your wardrobe. A staple in fashion is a basic garment like a little black dress. This item is versatile and easy to accessorizes for different occasions but will remain a classic. These are pieces you want to invest money in because they are likely to last longer. I have complied a list of 3 staple items every gal should have in their closet.

1. Jeans

Whether you are a jeans and t-shirt kind of lady or you're like me and hate wearing pants, denim is a must have. I suggest having at least 2 pairs of jeans, one to wear with flats and the second to wear with heels. I personally like dark wash denim because they last longer. Brand wise I suggest American Eagle or if you like a higher rise French Dressing Jeans. Jean can be made appropriate for casual Friday at work or for dinner and drinks with the girls. Above all they are comfortable and great for the weekend!

IMG_0542-32. Blazer

As illustrated in the photos thus far a blazer can be dressed up or worn for a more casual event. I like this stripe blazer because it adds a little flair and fits my fashion personality. Since we are talking staples, I would recommend a classic solid black. (Don't worry I have one of those too) It is important when shopping for these "staple" pieces to purchase items that fit your personal and unique stIMG_9395yle.

3. Little Black Dress

This is my all time favorite staple. I have worn my LBD to work, attending fashion shows, on a date with the mister, out for a night on the town with the girls, and here it is pictured to your left as a casual look for family. There is  a variety of different LBDs available to you based on your taste. The dressed pictured is the brand Sympli the Best it is easy to pack and doesn't wrinkle. This you can find pretty much anywhere!

The idea is to have your staple item be the base of your outfit then add other fashion garments and accessories. This will eliminate stress when shopping because you'll already have your staples in mind allowing you to build off of what you currently own. Try to invest more in these pieces because they will last longer. Don't forget to always by items that fit your fashion personality so you actually wear them. Be you because you are wonderful! Well dolls it has been a pleasure.

One day I had found myself along side my other half as we commuted home, he had left work and I had just finished a day of classes in Boston. He had picked me up at the train station and waited till I settled into the car to ask me a very important question, "Would you want to go to the Bruins game?" I replied, "Of course!" as if there were no other answer.

The date of the game drew near and my inner tomboy was jumping with excitement while, the fashionista in me was scrambling to decide on what to wear. I obviously was not going to attend this game in my Sunday best but, I wanted to look presentable. There is nothing wrong showing up to a game in a jersey and jeans, I personally tend to have a difficult time with dressing down. The outfit pictured is exactly what I wore to the game! I had to show my Bruins pride with this graphic tee shirt and paired it with the faux leather trim cardigan, creating a fun yet fashion forward look. To complete the ensemble I wore skinny jeans and brown boots. I love cross-body bags because they give you hands free movement (one hand for a beverage, the other for your phone).

Dressing for sporting events can be more than just a jersey and jeans. I suggest showing team pride with a graphic tee shirt but, giving the look a fashion edge with a blazer, cardigan, cool pants, or a funky shoe. The choice is yours based on your personal fashion style. Whether you will be in the stands at a football, soccer, hockey, or basketball game make sure to score in style!

Stay Sassy! xo
