Tasteful Tulle

DSC_0810DSC_0813DSC_0828DSC_0845

It was Christmas time last year and a brunette had found herself longing for the perfect tulle skirt. She couldn't find one anywhere that had the quality and price she desired. The brown haired girl forgot about the skirt for a while until she got engaged. That brunette was me and I knew that for my engagement photos I had to get my hands on a tulle skirt. I finally found one at Tobi.

Now buying something for just one occasion isn't my style or financially responsible. I am the type of shopper that likes to get the most for my money. The outfit pictured is a tasteful way to wear tulle. I paired it with this chambray shirt, pearls, & awesome BCBG heels. I would wear this out to dinner with friends or restyle it for a holiday party. I also plan on wearing this to my bridal shower. Tulle can give off a romantic and feminine look. Give it a shot for yourself! Channel your inner Carrie Bradshaw. How ever you decide to style your tulle don't forget to always express who you are. Fashion is fun don't be afraid to try new things.

Well dolls till next time. Check out this photo of how I styled the skirt for Ricky and I's engagement shoot.WIL0089

Set Yourself Apart

Fall does not offically start till September 23rd so there is still time to wear those sleeveless tops. Chilly? Throw on a denim jacket, layers are key during this transition in season. Set yourself apart with a fabulous clothing set! This set is from Ann Taylor Loft and I absoluelty adore it. Although bought seperately these pieces work together or with other garmets making it a versatile ensemble. Anything you can wear with other items in your wardrobe will give you more bang for your buck. This tank would look awesome with boyfriend jeans and heels. While the skirt would work back to a basic tee and scarf. Each piece features a chic lazer cut design brining them together.

Sets are hot right now and can instantly make you look put together. There are a variety available and can easily be found at any store. When I bought this I happened to stumble upon it. I fell in love with the skirt first thinking that would complete my purchase until my mum (my shopping buddy) showed me the tank. Give it a shot! Find one tailored to your liking and your personal style. Don't forget to express your fabulous self.

Well dolls until next time! Happy shopping :)

The Art of Dressing, a Balancing Act

DSC_0972DSC_0990DSC_0971DSC_0969

DSC_0989DSC_0995DSC_1000

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." These words were spoken by the late fashion icon Coco Chanel. Fashion is not just clothing, it is a form of self expression and to me can be considered an art. When a woman is wearing something she feels beautiful in, she radiates confidence. However, when one is not so comfortable in an ensemble, it shows. I have seen it personally first hand. When I was at the clothing boutique and was working with a client, I could see how she felt the minute she walked out of the fitting room. Why try to wear something that doesn't flatter your figure? Dress for your life style, personality, and budget.

As mentioned prior, dressing is an art of self expression and can be a balancing act. The outfit pictured is pretty much a uniform for me since I adore wearing skirts and hate wearing pants but it showcases the balance. Notice the skirt is full of volume and the tank is fitted to my body. This is a balanced look. This little trick can work vice versa with a fitted bottom like a legging or straight pant paired with a flowing tunic. Apparel is typically broken up into tops and bottoms, the concept is that if you are carrying volume in one area typically you should balance it with a narrow more fitted companion. This is a tip I use frequently when dressing myself. It gives an hourglass look and ensures that it doesn't look like your swimming in clothing.

Now there are always exceptions to tips and tricks, I have seen women pull of full fabulous looks. This is just a general helpful tip that I use. Try it for yourself, experiment and have fun! Don't forget to always stay true to yourself and dress to flatter your beautiful and unique figure. Be you, be fabulous!

Well my friends till next time. Stay sassy xo

Winter Wonderland Essentials

5192925

Happy spring! What better way to celebrate than with some snow flurries; like we haven’t had enough already. If you live in New England you are fully aware that it looks like a winter wonderland. Despite the fact that we are now in “spring”, there is no denying that a winter coat is an essential for the colder temperatures. Since we are in a season transition it is the ideal time to purchase your winter coat for next year (and the tail end of all this snow). Typically retailers will put the left over cold weather gear on sale in an effort to get rid of this merchandise before bringing in new spring products. February and the beginning of March is usually the slowest time of year for retail stores, in an effort to generate business retailers will send out coupons or incentives to get you, the consumer, into the store. Watch for these coupons in your email inbox because you can score some pretty sweet discounts.

Preparing for a winter apocalypse doesn’t mean you have to look like Randy and Ralphie from A Christmas Story, bundled up till you can barely move. I picked up this houndstooth coat at Macy’s a few years ago and I find it fabulous yet functional. I paired it with this red scarf for a pop of color. There are a variety of cold weather coats available to you that will fit your fashion personality while keeping you warm. Other accessories other than the coat and scarf appropriate for cold weather months include beanies, ear muffs, gloves, or mittens. As I mentioned prior, there is a plethora of different styles, fabrics, and patterns available to you in all the items mentioned. The idea is to get cold weather items that reflect you while still keeping you warm, which is top priority. Purchasing a winter coat is an investment but you can find a good deal around this time of year.

Well dolls thank you for swinging by! Good luck finding your winter wonderland apparel and keep the faith! The warmer weather is on it is way!

Greetings fabulous readers! I apologize for my absence, last minute I decided to disconnect while on vacation. Although I came home to a blizzard here in MA I got to recharge my batteries, feeling extremely inspired. Brace yourselves for awesome and helpful material! The last post included tips on packing your vacation ensembles, today we will cover what exactly to bring in your carry-on. Let's get to it!

Choosing your carry-on

Most airlines allow you to bring a carry-on bag and a purse. I like to use my Vera Bradley Weekender carry-on, it has an opening on the back of the bag allowing travelers to put the weekended over the handles of your rolling luggage. It also has an adjustable strap for easy carrying once your luggage is checked. This particular bag is in a subtle yet noticeable pattern making it easy to keep tabs on. When deciding on which carry-on bag to take make sure it is easy to use, fits in the over head compartments or under the seat, and fits the carry-on requirements of the airline you are flying with.

What goes in your carry-on?25

This can vary based on the type of trip you are going on, business or leisure. Regardless of the trip it is always wise to pack a spare outfit, a small tube of toothpaste and toothbrush, and any valuables like fine jewelry in case your luggage gets lost. When traveling for business you maybe packing your entire trip attire in your carry-on accompanied with your laptop. I always make sure to keep chargers for my electronics on me to prevent forgotten items. To pass time on your flight bring a book or a couple magazines. Make sure before you leave the house that you have the proper identification like a state issued ID for domestic travel in the United States or a passport for international adventures. Make sure you arrive to the airport 2 hours prior to take off this will give you enough time to check-in your luggage and into your flight, get your boarding pass, and go thru security.

When dressing to travel I like to be comfortable yet put together. I suggest wearing layers to be comfortable on the plane based on your personal preference.
