Twas' the Night Before Christmas

Hello doll! It may not technically be the night before Christmas but it is Christmas Eve Eve. I have all my shopping done & I just need to finish wrapping! Can you guess where I got the inspiration for this shoot?

Every year we spend Christmas Eve at my Vovo's (grandmother's) as a young girl we wouldn't open our gifts till midnight because that's when Santa would deliver them. I remember going back to my parent's sleeping in the car on the ride home with a belly full of food & dreaming of what the man in the red suit would bring my siblings & I. Now that everyone is grown that midnight time seems to get earlier & earlier every year meaning we open gifts around 9/10.

This year is my first year as a wife & in our own home. My parent's would never allow me to dance on the coffee table so you bet I dance on mine. I had to get some festive PJ's. I hope that you & your family all have very happy holidays & a happy healthy new year!

Stay Sassy & God Bless!

Holidays with Nanette Lepore

Hello beautiful! I hope your week is going dashingly. I can't even believe Christmas is this weekend! I still have some things that I need to wrap up but it always gets done.
Continuing the holiday outfit inspo series is this fabulous dress by Nanette Lepore. It was a Saturday afternoon & I was flipping thru the racks at TJ Maxx when I found this black beauty. She was calling my name, this dress is everything classic & sophisticated. I of course had to add a touch of animal to make this look a hint edgy. I love the collar & pleated detail at the bottom. This dress seriously has me reconsidering my outfit choices this weekend. I see myself also wearing this dress to work. I love this shape because it falls effortlessly but I can also eat as much as I want & not feel uncomfortable afterwards.
I hope this look was able to give you a little holiday outfit inspo! Till next time Fash Dolls.
Stay Sassy & God Bless!

Casual Chic

Hello beautiful! Welcome back to the Fashology holiday outfit series. Today I am chefing up some outfit inspo for the casual girl. Not all of us find tights or heels comfortable & that's okay, maybe your event doesn't call for dressy attire. You can still be festive yet comfortable.

This outfit is casual chic with skinny jeans as the base. I suggest wearing a top that is a "holiday" color, this could be red, maroon, green, black, etc. I topped off this ensemble with a faux fur vest. I feel that a good faux fur vest will always take any outfit to the next level. Dig the hat? Good news for you, a friend of mine is making these & they will be going on sale soon. Until then feel free to give her Instagram a follow @kuronne.co .

I would wear this look to a low key holiday party, causal Friday, or just for any day! I hope that this has given you some casual chic outfit inspo for the holiday season. Not everything you wear this month has to be covered in sequins.

Well fash dolls till next time.

Stay Sassy & God Bless!

Sleigh Girl

Hello beautiful! Happy Holiday season to you & yours. I am not going to lie to you I have been a bit more of a hot mess lately than usual lately. If you have been reading a long you know that I am an assistant buyer for Metrostyle catalog & let me tell you this time of year is cray. Between prepping for our summer '17 photo shoot & setting up fall/winter 2017 I have just been tired. I don't think the fact that it gets darker out early helps my cause but I am also notorious for always being on the go then crashing. Anyway this isn't a sob story or a rant, I just miss you all! So I am getting my positive pants on & am ready to conquer the rest of this year with you.

My next few post are going to be brought to you by the holiday season & hope that they give you some outfit inspo. I bought this tulle skirt for Ricky & I's engagement photos & other bridal events but I am not the type of shopper to buy an item for just one use. I have paired this Carrie Bradshaw inspired skirt with a flannel, tights, & my fav cheetah pumps. I'm going to wear this outfit Christmas day to my mum's for brunch then to my in law's for dinner.

I know this season can get kind of stressful but try your best to enjoy it. Take a deep breathe & try not to over commit to events. I know we can all experience FOMO (fear of missing out) but sometimes you need to take a minute for yourself & truly enjoy the magic of this time of year.

Anyway fash dolls till next time! Stay sassy + God Bless :)

How to Dress for a Formal Event

One of my best friends went to a military academy for her college years. During her time there she had met her now husband. At this academy they had many formal events one of which I had the pleasure of attending. Since I started blogging every time I would see them he would remind me that I should write a post on how to dress for a formal event. So here we go.

What is a "formal dress"?

A formal dress is typically an elegant floor length evening gown. This one pictured I have worn as a maid-of-honor  to a wedding and as a date to a formal dinner. This dress is classic making it a timeless piece.

DSC_0647-3How to choose the perfect formal gown for you?

As mentioned prior a formal dress is typically floor length. I have seen some stunning hi-lo hems but it is important to know your audience where you are attending this formal event. Next make sure that it flatters your figure! This is extremely important because you want to feel comfortable and not self conscious during the event. Also, make sure that you aren't too exposed. A good rule to stick to is to show off one part of your body. This dress is strapless so seeing my shoulders is definitely enough skin. Maybe you want to go with a dress with a deep v make sure your front is covered. You aren't going to club. Color wise I would always suggest black or jewel tones. Rich reds or deep blues would make for a lovely gown. Not barbie pink.

What about accessories?DSC_0627-2

Once you have your dress it is time to accessorize. Make sure you don't over do the jewels. I am wearing a chunky pearl necklace here and could add a subtle bracelet. I could put my hair up and wear chandler earrings in which case I wouldn't need the necklace. I would suggest bringing a shawl incase you get chilly. Always bring a clutch to carry your phone, money, keys, a lipstick, etc. Lastly the shoes, make sure that you wear a pair of shoes you can stand and dance in all night long. You should never take your shoes off at a formal occasion. At some weddings the couple will provide flip flops but if you are at a formal work event keep your dancing shoes on. I repeat keep your shoes on.

Well these are my suggested tips for dressing for a formal event. Where ever you go get yourself dolled up and have fun! The holiday season is always filled with fun events. I always enjoy getting all dressed up from time to time. My next formal event is Ricky & I's wedding!

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Or Happy Holidays whatever you celebrate enjoy this season with your loved ones.

Stay Sassy + God Bless xo

It's the Holiday Season

It's the holiday season! Deck the halls, light the menorah however you celebrate do so in style.  This time of year can get extremely hectic with all the preparation and parties, this doesn't mean you need to compromise your sense of style.

This ensemble would be perfect for a holiday party. The faux leather skirt is paired with this animal print blouse. Tights and booties complete the outfit. The faux leather skirt brings an edge while the blouse balances it exuding a feminine look. This outfit is fashionable and festive.

Well dolls, I hope you have a Happy Holiday season. Consider stirring clear from the ugly sweaters and wear something that expresses who you are.

Happy Shopping!
