Just a little note

IMG_4569 Hello friends! Long time, no post. There are certain times that one finds life getting in the way. Since my last post, some amazing things have happened. First of which was  beginning my new employment opportunity in the fashion industry. I have been learning a lot and it has been a wonderful experience which I hope to share with you along the way. A week after starting my new venture I got engaged! It was such a pleasant surprise. As you could imagine, starting a new career, on top of planning a wedding, could drive anyone mad. Now that I have settled into my job and the wedding planning has calmed down, I am ready to produce more helpful fashion advice! I am here to help you establish a wardrobe fit for your body and personality. I am not here by any means to tell you what to wear. I am here to inspire you to be the best you can be!

Now this wouldn't be Fashology without talking fashion! Here is a little peak of my engagement pictures with Ricky. I wanted to wear something that represented my personality; feminine yet playful. The tank top is from Marshalls and the tulle skirt is from Tobi, completing the ensemble with Converse Chuck Taylors.

Stay tuned for lots of fun to come! In the meantime keep up with us on social media!

Top 3 Staples

Is your closet cluttered? Do you have 10 pairs of jeans? When you walk into a store, do you get overwhelmed because you do not know what to buy? My best guess is that you do not have a great selection of staple items in your wardrobe. A staple in fashion is a basic garment like a little black dress. This item is versatile and easy to accessorizes for different occasions but will remain a classic. These are pieces you want to invest money in because they are likely to last longer. I have complied a list of 3 staple items every gal should have in their closet.

1. Jeans

Whether you are a jeans and t-shirt kind of lady or you're like me and hate wearing pants, denim is a must have. I suggest having at least 2 pairs of jeans, one to wear with flats and the second to wear with heels. I personally like dark wash denim because they last longer. Brand wise I suggest American Eagle or if you like a higher rise French Dressing Jeans. Jean can be made appropriate for casual Friday at work or for dinner and drinks with the girls. Above all they are comfortable and great for the weekend!

IMG_0542-32. Blazer

As illustrated in the photos thus far a blazer can be dressed up or worn for a more casual event. I like this stripe blazer because it adds a little flair and fits my fashion personality. Since we are talking staples, I would recommend a classic solid black. (Don't worry I have one of those too) It is important when shopping for these "staple" pieces to purchase items that fit your personal and unique stIMG_9395yle.

3. Little Black Dress

This is my all time favorite staple. I have worn my LBD to work, attending fashion shows, on a date with the mister, out for a night on the town with the girls, and here it is pictured to your left as a casual look for family. There is  a variety of different LBDs available to you based on your taste. The dressed pictured is the brand Sympli the Best it is easy to pack and doesn't wrinkle. This you can find pretty much anywhere!

The idea is to have your staple item be the base of your outfit then add other fashion garments and accessories. This will eliminate stress when shopping because you'll already have your staples in mind allowing you to build off of what you currently own. Try to invest more in these pieces because they will last longer. Don't forget to always by items that fit your fashion personality so you actually wear them. Be you because you are wonderful! Well dolls it has been a pleasure.

Give your wardrobe a touch of sophistication

IMG_0543-4IMG_0555-7IMG_0562-12IMG_0577-17 Quick! Take a moment to in-vision yourself or someone you know in a blazer. What is your initial interpretation? The person you pictured must look put together, authoritative, professional, or intellectual. These thoughts are common when describing blazers, they add instant style to any ensemble. The blazer is a staple piece worth investing in. The beauty of these jackets is that they can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Featured is this black and white striped blazer found at Daisy Riley (Plymouth, MA) for $69.00. The jacket is dressed up over a little black dress with patent leather red pumps perfect for work. Transition your blazer to a less formal event like drinks with the girls or date night with your man by pairing it with jeans, a basic t-shirt, and fabulous heels. Go completely causal by kicking off your pumps and throwing on a pair of flats or sneakers, a great look for adventures or a day of shopping. (Chuck Taylor's are my personal fav)

Typically, when searching for wardrobe staples the key is to purchase neutral colors, this allows for versatility. There are a plethora of different styles blazers available to you. You may find a blazer that will fit perfect throughout the torso but, the sleeves are too long. Buy it and get the sleeves hemmed. I always tell my clients that ready to wear(buying off the rack) is always almost ready to wear. Meaning, manufacturers cut clothing to different specifications so, if you find a piece you love and fits you perfect for the exception of one spot, buy that item and take it to a seamstress.

Well dolls I hope this has inspired you to go out and find your special blazer. This jacket will add instant sophistication to your wardrobe. As illustrated blazers can be accessorized for any occasion, you will definitely get your moneys worth.

Till next week! Stay Sassy xo
